The Messy Strawberry Trifle

Ok, this one is simple and delish!!!! Now before I start I just want to say that usually I make this with angel food cake (my opinion it is much better with angel food cake but shortcakes are good too!) I make this every couple weeks for my husband to take to work for an event they do every class and all the guys LOVE it :) very simple!

all you need is:
1. angel food cake or shortcakes (for the bowl I use I need 3 packages of shortcakes or 2 loaves of angel food cake)
2. the big tub of cool whip
3. 2-4 packs of vanilla pudding
4. 1 (or 2) tubs of frozen strawberries

now here come the really really really complicated part ;) tear up the cakes and layer: cake, pudding, cool whip, strawberries.....REPEAT over and over :)

here is what it will look like along the way :)

Ok so I know this doesn't look full....I don't know what I was thinking but I didn't buy enough for my bowl (not like I haven't made it a thousand times lol). So I went back to the store and got more and filled it up!

I make it the night before and put it in the fridge and it is still delicious!

ENJOY :)

DIY Paracord Survival Bracelet

Ok, so this is my very first post...I am super excited!!!

So, my husband brought me back one of these bracelets (a pink one, he knows me lol) from deployment. Since then I have been seeing them around and even saw a pin on Pinterest (yes, I am one of those addicts!), but the link didn't lead to anything but an error :( BUT have no fear I looked at the pictures and taught myself (and documented it just for you!). So here it is......

Here is a list of supplies:
1. 7 feet of paracord (or as some know it as 550 cord)
2. A piece of cord that fits the wrist (picture below)
3. Scissors
4. Lighter (to burn the edges)
5. Clipboard and tape (to hold the bracelet in place)

Now, here comes the hard, confused, twist your brain in a knot part....no, just kidding! well, it is hard to get down and hard to keep straight but that is what pictures are for, right? ;)
after you have attached the wrist piece to the clipboard with tape...like this:

you will do a simple square knot...over and over and over and over and over, until it's done!
the first knot you take the right piece UNDER the wrist part and through the loop and take the left piece OVER the wrist part and through the loop.....and then pull tight! **NOTE: put the first knot to the clip on the clipboard but leave enought to make a loop for it to close over the wrist--you will see a the end)

Now you will do this again but everytime you will alternate. So the next square knot you will be taking the left piece and go UNDER the wrist piece and through the loop and take the right piece and go OVER the wrist piece and through the loop.

So, doing this over and over it can get confusing so just keep looking at the pictures and go back and forth (that's what I did!)

The above picture will be what it looks like as you are going. Just keep doing knots until you get super close to the bottom knot. Once you are finished you will simply cut off the strings and melt them down with the lighter. Now all you have to do it wrap it around the wrist and put the knot through the loop you left at the top.
